Work Smarter, Not Harder

Who here has been in the middle of a round, “parched” and “starving”, with no beverage cart in sight? It’s a total buzzkill (literally and figuratively)! It’s situations like these that can put a damper on the whole day, limiting the potential positive impact of the entire experience.

While this certainly isn’t a life or death situation (well, to most of my friends anyway), this is one perfect example of how the customer experience can be continuously improved. And while the answer might not be drone delivery ala Michael Jordan’s Grove XXIII course can provide, data can certainly be leveraged to solve for this.

Michael Jordan’s Grove XXIII Course showcasing drone delivery

Why hasn’t it been solved for is the question. The data is there - but the systems don’t connect. Why can’t/doesn’t the golf cart system (with GPS) speak to to the F&B POS to understand when the last order was served to that cart, and use AI to determine likelihood of another order at that specific time? Even better, a triggered notification can be sent to the golfer via the tee time/registration system confirming if the golfer does actually want anything. From there, the golf cart (or course app) can take/confirm the order, and then share back to the F&B system, so that when the beverage cart arrives the order is already ready, thus preventing a slowdown in play.

This all can result in operational efficiency, increased revenue, reduced churn (since the cart girl captures more orders and loves her job even more), and a better patron experience.

So instead of just making the loop and seeing who wants and order, the cart can now go from order to order (thus potentially leading to a second cart since the revenue is now spiked up). And then yes, even drones would be helpful in this case!

This is what CourseIQ does. We are not the golf cart system. We are not the tee time system. We are not the F&B system. We are the ones that link these together in a backend world that is completely uncoordinated.

Work smarter, not harder. Burnt-out GMs, let’s talk.

See you on the tee box!
