CourseIQ = Leading Mental Health Platform?

Golfers having "fun"

We’ve all see the memes of golfers “having so much fun” that they they fling their clubs into a lake. Why would anyone in their right mind actually pay money to seemingly get even more frustrated with life?

Believe it or not, but according to a 2020 NIH survey of 250 golfers from around the world, the No. 1 reason golfers golf is to support their “mental well-being”. With participation up 30% since 2020 as well, there are lots more first-timers out there, and certainly lots more people thinking there is at least something positive about a round.

As course operators, we have a duty to help golfers achieve this stated by delivering up the most seamless and efficient experience possible. Even if we can’t deliver birdies every hole!

According to this recent Golf.com article, golf achieves several positive mental health benefits:

  • Supports anxiety and depression relief

  • Increases social interaction

  • Helps build confidence

  • Helps you practice patience (this is where I certainly need to focus!)

GMs, your own mental health comes into play here too. Burnout is higher than ever, and there is a building pressure to be even more productive and deliver even more results. And you’re not even getting the chance to play golf as much as we’d think to help with the stresses! Let’s help you get to a place where you can actually enjoy your job, play golf, and manage your own mental health as well.

CourseIQ helps managers manage venues better and more efficiently. It delivers a better experience to the patron as well as the operator. Which in turn provides more opportunities to play (for both groups), which results in better mental health. So CourseIQ is a leading mental health platform!

See you on the tee box!
