While we continue to advocate for operational efficiency and automation, our conversations with GMs have taken on a somewhat amusing tone. Each call follows a familiar pattern - they join the Zoom while juggling multiple other conversations, often interrupted by their team or a customer/member. This inevitably leads to some impatience on the call. It's at this precise moment that we begin to tell our story and explain how we can assist. For most, it's an "ah-hah" moment. However, inexplicably, some encounter pushback. It dawns on us that some GMs are quite literally addicted to chaos. They expect it, wouldn't know what to do without it, and feel they're not fulfilling their role without it. In all honesty, there have been times in my own career where I've been ensnared by chaos too. It gives a sense of importance and indispensability (is that a word? It wasn’t flagged by spell-check, so it must be!).
This is where we borrow a line from the classic sports movie, Jerry Maguire - "Help Me Help You!" Yes, CourseIQ is selling a product, but that's not why we established this business. We built it to bring balance to the lives of General Managers, ultimately enhancing the customer experience. As Jack and I are customers first, this was our personal motivation. We love golf. We despise 5-hour rounds. We detest "surprises". We loathe when something breaks unnecessarily. This is our passion.
