2024 Trend - More (Fragmented) Technology!
There was a very nice paid placement in the last issue of Golf Inc Magazine entitled “The Innovation Jump”. I wanted to to reply to it by saying “just because your friends jumped off the Brooklyn Bridge, that doesn’t mean you should” channelling my long passed American grandmother (vs my long-passed Irish grandmother, who had different sayings altogether).
While tech is becoming more and more part of the operational requirements of a venue - when we still see staffing done in a log book, accounting done on Excel and even handwritten paychecks sometimes) - the article EXACTLY PROVED our point. The solutions were organized by siloed elements of a course. There was not one that did everything. Nor will there be for the foreseeable future, as the cost to develop that type of product is fairly high, but the TAM (number of courses) is only in the tens of thousands. They are all getting better, more user-friendly, and yes even some more integration across certain departments within a venue, but we have yet to run into a course that uses only one platform across everything.
This was our ah-ha moment at CourseIQ. This fragmentation leads to a time suck, operational efficiency, and leaving money on the table. The CourseIQ value prop is simple - connect all of your existing platforms, which provides a single viewpoint across the venue, makes your job easier, saves money and captures additional revenue that had been left on the table. It does NOT replace any existing platforms. It does NOT require migration of data or any drawn out onboarding. Its magic is its simplicity.
2024 is here. CourseIQ is turning on the jets. We’ll see you at PGA Show, and others to come in Q1. We have some exciting news to share soon around venues leveraging The Connected Course and an accelerated growth plan. The need is there, we are proud to solve for it now.
See you on the tee box!
